FAQs

What is a Treeweb?

A Treeweb is a hand-woven rope platform suspended between trees or other strong anchor points, creating a comfortable, elevated space. Built using durable climbing rope and tightly woven paracord, Treewebs form a flexible web-like structure that is strong enough to hold multiple people while still feeling soft and supportive to lie, sit or bounce on. Each Treeweb is custom designed for its environment and woven on site, turning a group of trees into a unique aerial lounge, playground, or lookout point. The result is a one-of-a-kind structure that blends craftsmanship, adventure, and connection with the natural world.

How strong is a Treeweb?

Treewebs are built using extremely strong rope and paracord designed for climbing and load-bearing applications. Individual strands of paracord are rated to hold 249 kilograms, while the larger structural ropes supporting the webs are capable of handling several tonnes of force. With multiple strands of cord woven together they create a strong, flexible platform that can comfortably support many people at once — depending on the design and strength of the anchor points, a Treeweb could theoretically hold as many people as you can fit on it.

How much does a Treeweb cost?

Treeweb installations typically start at around £5,000, with larger builds reaching into the tens of thousands depending on size and complexity. Each web is hand-woven and custom designed, creating a durable structure intended for long-term use. Final pricing varies based on factors such as the location of the project, overall web size, height and the amount of time needed to complete the installation.

How long does a Treeweb last?

Treewebs are built using high-quality outdoor rope and paracord designed to withstand years of use in the elements. With proper installation and normal use, a Treeweb can last many years outdoors, depending on factors such as weather exposure, UV sunlight, tree movement, and general wear. With occasional inspections and basic maintenance, a well-built Treeweb can last 10+ years.

Do Treewebs harm the trees?

Treewebs are designed to work with the trees without causing harm. Strong, healthy trees are carefully chosen as anchor points, and the load of the web is spread between multiple trees rather than concentrated on one. Wooden spacer blocks are used between the rope and trunk to prevent strangulation or girdling, allowing the tree to continue growing naturally while supporting the structure. Sometimes, stainless steel bolts may be used as anchor points. When installed correctly these do not harm the tree, as trees naturally grow around the bolt and seal the area much like they would around a broken branch.
